COAL DISPUTE
.ACCEPTANCE OP AGREEMENT EXPEQTEH. Unofficial reports indicate that the coal miners' unions will approve of the draft agreement referred to them by the coal conference. The delegates who represented the men at ';he conference are generally in favour of ratification of the agreement, and their recommendation is expected to be the deci-ivc factor. The miners have not got all they asked for, but they have icctiral some substantial concessions. The new agreement, if accepted by the miners, will be national in scope" and will require to be signed by representatives of the conference.

The particulars mentioned were telegraphed from Wellington by the torrespondent of the local evMiing paper and published. The miners feci that n mere-, ly partial disclosure of particular itoms is calculated io lead to misunderstandhxg, and endanger early ratification of tho agreement.
