There hns been recently a revival of the Jutland Battle controversy, .owing to Commander Bellair's book thereon passing strictures upon' Admiral Jellic'oe's tactics, which the.book declares, lost the ■dinnce of annihilating the enemy. The anthor considers that an official account should be oublished in order to show whether Admiral Jellicoe lost a chance through ignoring Admiral Beatty's signal mrging Admiral Jellicoe to follow him and close with the enemy.
•• Mr. W. H. Long (First Lord of the Admiralty) stated in the. House of Commons to-dav that an official account would-be ■published in about a month, -with Von fieheer's account added to it. Admiral 'Jellicoe had not reported to the Admiralty on naval defence of the Empire generally, which was a matter for the Ad-miralty.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
