AUDITING OF TIttJST ACCOUNTS. By Telegrapli—Press Association. Chrlstchurch, February 17. At the Magistrate's Court, Thomas Sydney Dacro and Harry S. J. GQodmnn, partners in tho legal firm of Dacre nnd Goodman, wore cacli lined £50 and costs for failing to have trust accounts audited within the period prescribed by tho regulations. A heavy fine was inflicted because it was tho minimum provided by the regulations. It was _stated that tho accounts had been audited and it certificate forwarded to the Solicitor-General showing that everything was in order, but this was not done till several months after tho time prescribed. The defendants pleaded guilty, urging that the delay was duo to shortness of staff and pressure of work at their own and the auditor's office.
