THE SAMOAN VISIT
PARTY TO LEAVE TO-DAY. The Mokoia, which is to take the Parliamentary party to Samoa and the other islands, was not ready to leave Wellington yesterday, and the departure has been postponed until 3 o'clock this afternoon. The vessel called at Lyttelton on her way from Dunedin in order to bring passengers who had been unable to secure accommodation on tho ferry steamer?, and reached Wellington yesterday morning. Tho carrying of passengers delayed tho preparations for the reception of the Parliamentary party. The Mokoia is equipped with wireless and will be able to. keep in fairly close touch with New Zealand. It is possible that a small daily newspaper will be issued aboard for the convenience of members. News from the islands indicates that hearty receptions may be expected from the native chiefs and the white residents.
