The monthly mooting of the WairaTapa Returned Soldiers Association was hold in the association's office at Masterton last night, Mr. J. A. Cowles being in the chair. There were also present: Messrs J. C. Miller, R. B. Burndge, J. M'Kay, J. Hebenton, 11. C. Bell_ and W. Pellew. A sub-committee consisting of Messrs. Burridge, Hebenton, and Miller was set np to go into the matter of hiring certain ftre«9 set flsido in the Mnsterton Cemetery for the burial of returned soldiers. Mr. A. P. Whatman addressed the meeting on matters relating to tlio settlement of soldiers on the land. It )vas decided to open a list of all Wairarapa returned men requiring land, with a viow to placing the information bofore Cabinot. It was decided to support a resolution forwarded from the Dunedin association that tho pay of officers be made retrospective to tho date of tho outbreak of war as from. April 1, 1918.
