Don Spec has bcon entered for the Egmont and Wanganui meetings, but there is little clianco of him coming north as lie is at present on the easy list, having picked up a nail while exercising last week. Vot. Ring was at Trenthani early this week, where he operated on several of J. Lowe's charges, including the three-year-old Motuihi. J. Ayres, in charge of Bonnie Maid, will leave for Hnwera on Thursday. T'ho mare is to contest the Egmont Cup next week. The Hymettus colt, Jackaroo, an inmate of A. Goodman's slables, is to be gelded and turned out for a spell. Prina Delaware, in charge of 11. Kingan, and Swanee Kiver, in -'barge of bor owner, wero shipped south last night on their way to the Dunedin Meeting. Printempts has been suffering with a badly-swollen head of late, and the servies of a veterinary have been obtained for him. J. Lowe returned homo on Sunday last without Rossini. It appears that tho colt was in a bad way, so tho deal was called off. At New Plymouth to-day the fields will ho reduced considerably consequent upon tho postponement of tho Takapuna Meeting. Eataua, To Ton, Lord Kenil.worth, Landslide Taianiai, Madam llistori, and Stark will all be missing. The opening event is the Eack Hurdles. Explorer has not raced, up to his Melbourne form 6ince coming here, but ho is not meeting a good lot to-day, and cutsido of him Master Moutoa way be tho best.

Generalissimo and Golden Bubble will both be fancied in the Juvenile Handicap, but tho pair will bo extended by the Highden-trained Quip (Absuid—AdeleeiaJ and Emprean (The Welkin—Flower of the West). Ermino will be well tancied in tho llimi AVelter Handicap, but tho distance may trouble her, and tho consistent Perfect Day may do found equal to conceding her a stonp. Tho Taranaki Cup may resolve itself into a great raco between the two top weights, Koto and Surveyor. Simonides will have plenty of supporters for tho Flying Handicap, for which the public will probably have to select the first horse to a get a return. The Yaldhurst three-year-old Ktarland has not Taccd up to his track form in public, but in such a weak field he may be persuaded to do his best. Tho best field of tho day will contest tho Timaru Hack Handicap. Tho two top weights, Trespass and Nursing Sister, can both go fast. Prodigal, one of K. J. Mason's team, may come in for most support in tho Electric Hack Handicap, five furlongs, in which all tho contestants carry tho same weight. . Tho annual meeting of the South Wairarapa Trotting Club is to bo held othe Tauher.-nikau Racecourse to-morrow. A special train service has been arranged, and Wellington residents can leave by the 7.50 a.m. train from Lambton and return from Featherston at 7.15 p.m. The Yaldhurst owner, Mr. G. L. Stead, has decided to sell off the wholo of his racing stud at an early date
