A westerly low pressure now passing in tlio south has, says the Government Meteorologist, neutralised tlio wind in tho rear of the sub-tropical disturbance which traversed tlio north during the week-end and accounted for considerable rainfall. Present indications arc for changeable, showery weather on the west const and southernmost districts and warm and fair, but unsettled at times, along the eastern const. Several Uruguayan packing-houses closed down recently owing to the great increase in tho cost of cattle.
