RAILWAYMEN'S DEMANDS
« ' EXTREME MEASURES URGED. Ilr Tek'i'ranli- "~." Attociailn* Napier, January 29. At a well-attended meeting of tiie Napier branch of the A.S.R.S., the following resolution was carried:—"That this meeting unanimously urges our executive to adopt extreme measures to obtnin the increases asked for. After reading the evidence oi the assistant manager, this branch is satisfied that there is absolutely no sympathy on the side of the Department towards members of tho second division, and if the increases are not granted we urge upon the whole of the members of (he A.S.R.S. to demand that the dispute regarding wages and'conditioiis lie placed in the hands of the Transport Workers' Advisory Board for speedy settlement. We ask the support of every branch in New Zealand, arid will telcgiauh our president urgently to that effect.."
