A good many matches were played off. and the finals will commence todav at nine o'clock, when the iirst round of the open doubles final will bo contested. Results;—
Ladies' Onen Singles (North Island Championship).—First round, second mines—Mrs. Richardson beat Mrs. Hamilton. 28—19. Second round, second mimes Mi's. M'Eae beat Mrs. Murray Avnsley. 28-8; Mrs. Richardson beat Mrs. Henderson, 28-4. Third game,— Mrs. M'Eae boat Mrs. Richardson, 28-22.
Handicap Singled.—Second games—Mrs. Glass (4) beat M'Cullough (U), 28-22; Mrs. Baxter (4) beat Miss Kebbell (55), 15-14: Watkins (6) beat Mrs. Fyffe (5), l!)-i3: Mrf Clarkson (4) beat Mrs. Williams (b). 24—14. Third gamesRoss beat Stratton, 2G-20. At a well-attended meeting of croquet players' to-night it was decided to form n. New Zealand croquet association. All clubs represented pledged themselves to affiliation. The association will control New Zealand and North and South Island championships.
