"YES, UNCLE." The musical comedy "Yes, Uncle," which was very popular in London and is non' being produced at the Grand Opera House, is enjoying excellent patronage. This is no matter for surpriso since the play delightfully combines tlio arts of music and comedy, mid abounds in funny situations. As Joan Stark, Miss Cecil Bradley is excellent, and makes ■ a distinct hit in the melodious soup, "(In the Shores of Miami San." Iter quarrel duet with Mr. William Grcelio, who plays the role of tho distracted English artist George Stark, appeals to tho audience, ns docs also the tuneful song, "Where the Water Lilies Grow." MY. .Alfred I'irth as Hobby Summers, Jlws Mario Eaton as Lolita, Miss Madge Elliott as Nichette, and Mr. Cyril Kitchard as Lucien, acquit themselves admirably and win liberal applause at cadi performance. "Yes, Uncle" will bo staged throughout tho week.
KING'S THEATRE. "Upstairs," a screaming ragtime romance, which will bn swooned at f hc King's Theatre to-night, is said to pro•vide a golden opportunity for the vivacious comedy queen Mabel Normaud io display to the full her lively stage humour as Elsie Maciaiiuul. Her adventures witli ii detective and a crook a:« separate thrills. A second attraction wiii he a lengthy and thrilling film photograpkd by the Germans themselves from the after-dock of one of tneir submarines, entitled "The Exploits of IT 3.5." All parts of the film are said to he exceptionally vivid, and the c:.citing warfrre is calculated to stir young and old. The picture is an authentic one, and its bona fides are guaranteed. It is stated that those who view the Urn will ho completely convinced of its genuineness. A full list of supports will also )v) shown. Charles Smythe, the eminent br.sso, will be heard ir, a complete change uf programme. There will' be special music by the King'fc Orchestra.
EVERYBODY'S THEATRE. "Carmen of the Klondyke," which is a companion picture to "Flame of the Yukon," will bo screened at Everybody's Theatre, commencing to-day. This in said to bo one of the most exciting pictures seen here for a considerable time, Mid was taker.'amid the- grim splendour of the Frozen North Clara Williams, is featured as a dance hall <:havneter, and does exceptional work as Dorothy Harlan. Whether dancing in the saloon or in other less prominent Bcenes, the star accomplishes her work in n pleasing manner. Edward Coxen, many times u hero in previous films, is in the cast.
