ENGINEERS' STRIKE
* PREPARATIONS FOR PROLONGED STRUGGLE. Sydney, January 20. The deadlock in tho skipping strike continue?, and the engineers are making preparations for a prolonged struggle. In Adelaide, as the result of the coal shortage caused by the shipping strike, the Government has imposed the some restrictions on the nso of gas as were in forco during the seamen's strike; and in Hobnrt the use of gas between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. is prohibited.—Press Assn. ANOTHER BALLOT POSSIBLE. (Roc. January 30,' 0.40 a.m.) Sydney, January 23. At tho suggestion of the Prime Minister (Mr. W. Hughes), representatives of the marine engineers will meet in Sydney on Saturday to discuss whether they will tiiko another ballot on the terms previously balloted on.—Press Assn. ,
