RAILWAY INQUIRY
(, • THIRD' DIVISION'S DEMANDS.
The New Zealand Railway Servants' Inquiry Board continued its sittings yesterday, under the presidency of His Honour Mr. Justice Stringer. Associated with His Honour were Mr. H. W. Mouatt, assessor for the Department, and Mr. B. Carroll, assessor for the Locomotive Enginedrivers, Firemen, and Clean : ers' Association. Mr. .1. MaeDonnld, Assistant General Manager, appeared as advocate for tha Department, and Mr. W. M'Arley on behalf of the association. At the outset His Honour, as the result of a consultation with tho representatives of the respective parties, int'maled that in accordance with their dtr sire the proceedings would not l)e conducted in public. Thereupon the Press withdrew. The hoard sat throughout the day, and adjourned to this morning, finality l.ot having vet been reached in connection with the' claims of tho Third Division. Hearing of the case to be presented by the First, Division is set down for next Monday.
