OTAGO UNIVERSITY DEGREES
TO BE PUBLICLY CONFERRED. . By Telegraph - Pre" Awocintlon. Dunedin, January 27. The University Senate adopted an address of congratulation to Otago University on attaining its jubilee. Dr. Cameron moved: "That, in view of tho jubilee celebrations of Otago University, senate resolves that degrees gained by studenfc> of Otago University,may be conferred in- public at Dunedin in 11)20." There was some opposition by speakers to the revival of public functions, the chancellor saying that the ono great public opportunity of bringing university and community into touch Ihnd been destroyed by tho students themselves. Wellington and Canterbury had been the worst. The motion was carried.
