His offences included the forgery and uttering of two cheques, Hie uttering of valueless cheques, and tho theft of dress mac Evidence showed (hat in one instance the accused signed an agreement to purchase a car for .£535, and gave a cheque for ,£SO as a deposit. In another instance lie arranged to purchase a farm, and w;ve A cheque for JCSO as a deposit. A third caso was the purchase of a grocery business, with another .£SO deposit. Stokes was committed for sentence.
