CHARGE OF MURDER
• DEATH OP NEW-BORN CHILD. By Telegraph—Press Association. Whangarei, January 27, Hilda Holden, a single woman, of Maori descent, was charged at the Magistrate's Court with the murder of her new-born infnnt child on January 5, at the Commercial Hotel, Whangarei, where she was employed as a waitress. The mother and her baby were found on a bedroom floor at midnight, the latter with marks on tho throat. IHe child subsequently died at the Hospital. The jury found that death was due to heart failure- following the disturbed condition of the respiratory organs, but there was no evidence to show how tho violence had been caused. The accused was committed to tne supreme Court .at Auckland for trial.
