WOOL PRICES IN ENGLAND
OUTSPOKEN COMMENT. A lending citizen of Hudclerstield who has been connected with tho wool trail* for a, litetime, in a letter to a Melbourne, friond, says:—"The wool trade during the last four years lias not been a 'bed of roses,' Tuo thing that, astonishes me more than anything else is the wnj that Australians put up with the sacrifice of what ought to have been a golden bridge for life. The way Auslralian wools are selling at (ifld., 70d., EOd., and up to llXId. per lb. weight, while tho growers are accepting a quarter of these prices, passes iny understanding. The scoured wools from your station would fetch from 75d. to Slid, per lb. I have been in the trade 50 years. I rub my eyes with astonishment when I see tho things that are taking place, aind I wonder what has possessed the ruleraof your country to do such a mad tiling."
