SCOUTS' SPORTS AT LOUVER HUTT
The annual sports gathering in connection with the Hutt Valley Boy Scouts was held at Lower Hntt yesterday. Tho attendance on tho whole was good, although for some unexplained reason, tho Wellington Troop, who had promised to supply some competitors, failed to put in an appearance. The various events were dispatched in good tiite, tho results being as under:— Pfli'.ulo fire-kindling competition for Mr. llitkliford's Cup—Hutt "No. 2, 2min. 12m, 1; Hutt No. 3, 2min. 22 3-ssee., 2. Signalling competition (mednl prizes)— St. Augustine's Troop, Pe.toue, 7min. 35<w., 1; Hutt, 13min. Hscc., 2. Infantry and pole drill for Mr. Oilton's trophy—Tf"'t No. 1, 1; Hutt No. 2 2. Firemen's /competition—Jfutt -No. 2, 37see„ 1; Hutt No. 3, 37 1-s«rc., 2. Band competition fnv Mr. T. M. Wilford's trophy—Hutt Band, (10 points, 1. Side.drum— Sergeant A. Lambert. 34 points, 1. Trumpeter—Sergeant Wrieht, 78 points, 1. Bugle;.'—Sergeant Wright, 03 points, 1. Bass drum—Scout Levein, 20 points 1, Ambulance display—Hntt No. 1, 80 points. 1; St; Augustine'*, Petono, and Tfvlt 'N T o. 2 (ptjii.il). 70 point?.
