Y.M.C.A.

BOYS' DEPARTMENT CAMP. The boys' department of the Y.M.C.A. has just concluded a most successful camp. The boys, 50 in number, left Lambton Station for Haywards oh the morning of January 3, and for ten days they enjoyed the privileges of the openair and camp life. The commissariat was in charge 01 Mr. A. M. Lascelles, social i secretary, and the discipline and control of the boys was under the direction of Mr. A. J. 'Webster, boys' work secretary, and complete harmony characterised (ill operations. The competitive spirit was introduced as far as possible in all sections of tho camp. x Points were given for tho bestkept hut, and tho hut competition was won by Walter Bentley, hut captain. A round of cricket and football was played,- four teams emering for each round. The A team (0. Price, captain) succeeded in winning each championship. The snorts (lay was Saturday last, and C. Non'is pulled off most of tho events. Sat urday was also visitors' day, when about sixty parents or friends of tho boys visited the camp, and many of them expressed their keen satisfaction for what was done for fihe boys.' Tho department is very much indebted to Mr. W. H. George, who allowed the boys the full use of tho huts and the ran of 'his property. The boys' department is planning an extensive programme for this coming year, and tho department will reopen this evening.
