AMENDMENT OF AUSTRALIAN MANDATE DESIRED NO TERRITORIAL AMBITIONS IN SIBERIA (By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright London, January 12. Tho Tokio correspondent of the "Daily Express" says that the Premier (J[r, Hara), in an interview, said ho considers tho hitch regarding Australia and tho Pacific Islands can easily be: adjusted. Japan does not object to Australia receiving the mandate, but she considers the tono of tho mandate unsatisfactory. Japanese traders are at present treated worse than they were under German ownership of the territories. Japan cannot' aqcopt such a position, and hopes that Britain will secure an amendment. Japan lias no territorial ambitions in Siberia, and will not take an inch of Russian territory. She will withdraw I every soldier tho moment the Bolshevik menace is removed. She wishes to act in harmony with America and the Entente, but cannot permit the Bolshevik danger to reach her door. .
