LOSS OP I'SOOO ON ONE CONTRACT. Sydney, January 15. In the report of the Wheat Inquiry, tho Commissioner, dealing with the sale, of the 1015-10 guaranteed wheal, stated that, through the failure of Sir. W. C. Grahnme (Minister for Agriculture) when tho pool was formed to protect his own contract with one firm, New South Wales was mulcted in a direct loss ot £801)0. It appeared that Mr. Grahamc. prior lo the formation of the pool, agreed with the firm to sell the wheat, which he proceeded to do, when the . pool, was formed. This wheat was not expected from the pool, and therefore Mr. Grahamc was unable to fulfil his agreement. The .CBOOO represented a portion of the firm's commission.—Press Assn . TRIBUTE TO MR. GRAHAME'S INTEGRITY. • (Roc. January 15, 10 p.m.) , Sydney, January 15. The Premier (Mr. W. A. Holman), in announcing Mr. Grahamc's resignation, paid a high tribute on behalf of himself and his colleagues to Mr. Grahamc's integrity and veracity in public questions. Mr. fTnliiinn added: "Suspicions have been aroused against him. but those who know him best know lhat.sueh suspicions are groundless. Unfortunately the suspicion cannot be allayed hy legal proof owing lo Mr. Georgcson's illness, for many months, perhaps never. In those circumstances it was 'belter that Mr. Grahame should resign."—Press Assn. I
