SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY

An appreciative audience at the Sailors' Friend Society on Tuesday gave their hostesses' (Mrs.'and Miss Ashenden) a warm reception, and applauded every t item; The performers were Mrs. Macfarlaue. the Misses Krite, Ashenden, J. Lewis. Hodgkinson, and Messrs. A. Boyd, Price, aii;! Masters Arthur Chalk 'and ICnox. Mrs. Mncfarlnno and Miss Hodgkinson were at the piano. Mr. Moore, missioner. spoke on "Battles I Havo Seen." in the temperance world, and nledscs followed. Hospitality was dispensed to the guests by the hostesses. The comnetition prizes came from tho hostesses, and went to tho Kigoma.
