THE SAMOA TRIP
PAKTY LEAVING MEKT MONTH. Cabinet decided yesterday to go on with the schomo of sending members of Parliament to Samoa, and the party is to sail jn tho Mokoia, leaving Wellington on or about February 10; The ship will go first to Rarotonga and other islands of the Cook Group, then to Apia (Samoa), arriving there about February 24,.and leaving about March 1, then to Nukualofa and Suva, returning to Auckland about March 12. The longest stay will bo at Apia, where tho party will remain for about five or six days. Telegrams are being sent to every member of Parliament inviting hint; to join the party going in the Mokoia, but tho invitation is in every case to tho member himself only. Members are not to to allowed to take their wives or any other members of their families. The senior Minister with the party will be Sir James Allen, Minister of External Affairs. .Mr. Massey is quite unablo to leave New Zealand for a month at present. Probably also there will travel by the ship special commisa:oners on. behalf of New Zealand to investigate the possibilities of trade with Samoa and the other islands of the Paeilic. The commissioners have not yet been scleited. Tlip High Commissioner of the Pacific has expressed a desire to have a conference botween trade representatives of New_ Zealand and Hie Fijian_ Administration, and this visit to Fiji the other islands seems to afford a good opportunity for such a conference.
