For some time dissatisfaction ha 3 ex isted at tho Bruce Woollen Jlill3, Mil ton, amongst tho employees regardin; the failure of the. directors to pay then a bonus' on the past year's BuCcessfu operations, a course which tliey allegi has been adoptod by several woollen mill: throughout tho Dominion. A petitioi: had been largely signed, requesting thai a bonus be granted. It is complained that ono of the work ere whilst obtaining signatures to th< petition during the lunch hour, Was de tectcil by the manager and almost immediately afterwards without no tice. 'The discharged worker happens t< foe president of tho recently-formcd Mil ton branch of the Woollen Mill Employed.;' Union. An indignation meeting was hold, and a resolution was adoptee that the management Ik asked to reinstate tho worker, and that, in the alternative, wholesale resignations should b< handed in. A deputation waited on the manager who refused to reinstate tlio man. Ai a consequence, 120. of the employees have tendered their resignations, to tak< effect from the closo of Saturday's work.
