GAMBLING IN RUBBER
1 , BRINGS RUIN TO LARGE FIRM. London, January 7. A remarkable bankruptcy of a wellknown foreign firm in tho Mincing Lano rubber market is reported. A Ix>ndon partner sold .£2,(100,000 of rubber, which advanced from 2s. to 2s. 10d. per lb., involving the loss of over half a million. The partner absconded, and the duet loss falls on the large firms which resold the rubber, which tho bankrupts cannot deliver.
