WELLINGTON v. CANTERBURY. A great .ileal of interest is being taken in the return match. Canterbury- v. Wellington, which will be commenced on the Basin Reserve on Thursday. Th 6 Canterbury (cam is due to arrive from Auckland by the express to-day, and will be practising at the Basin Reserve in the afternoon. ■ The wicket is .working up well,and, given fine weather, should bo in.perfect,condition. Wellington is expected to do much better in this event* and enthusiasts are looking forward to a close finish. The following have been selected to represent .Wellington against Canterbury: W.;A. Baker, G. H. Baker. H. M'Girr, W. Condliffe, Gedye. R. Finlnyson. SI. J-. Dind. H, Burton, B. J. Tuckwell, J. Hutchings, Middleton; emergencies, Duncan, Schraeder. Any player unable to play is asked to notify the selectors at once. ' ■ , Another match is to be played at the Wellington. College grounds a'so on Thursday and Friday between the Nomads and a Wellington second eleven. Tho Nomads are a touring team of country cricketers and reported to .be fairly strong this year.
