AN APPEAL TO MEN OF GOOD WILL
MESSAGE FROM PREMIERS OP BRITISH COMMONWEALTH. (Rec. January -1, 5.5 p.m.). . London, January 2. A New Tear message from tho Premiers of the British Commonwealth has been issued, over the signatures of Mr. .Lloyd George, Sir Robert Borden (Canada), Mr. W. M. Hughes (Australia), | Mr. W. F. llasscy (New Zeaalnd), and ; General Smuts (South Africa). It is addressed to their "fellow-citizens of tho British Empire." The messago emphasises that in a recognition of the Fatherhood of God and tho Divine purpose for the world, which is the central message of Christianity, wi'l he discovered the ultimate foundation for recognition of an ordered harmonious lifo for all men. As that re-, cognition could only oomo as an act, •■ of free consent on the part of individual' men everywhere, the messago appeals to men of good will to consider the eternal validity of the truth of those spiritual forces which aro tho one and only hope for a permanent foundation of world peace.—Renter.
