DE ROUGEMONT
FAMOUS ROMANCER REAPPEARS. London, January 1. A man named Louis Redmond, claiming to be Louis do Rougemont, is seriously ill in hospital, to which he was admitted on December 19. Ho is a gaunt,, wrinkled, white-bearded old man, and gave his ago as eighty-fivo. Ho freely discusses his former "adventures" with the nurses. Tho "Daily Express" says that when last seen in 'London in 1914 he endeavoured to arrango a South Polar expedition. Ho married Miss Tliirsa Cooner in 1914. and then dis-appeared.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. (Rec. January 4, 5.5 p.m.) London, January t.' The "Daily Express" says definitely that Redmond is do Rougemont. He has been living' in England since the outbreak of war. Ho has latterly been living in tho basement of an empty house at Kingston, but ho always seemed to havo sufficient money. His tall,'gaunt figure was a familiar sight in the neigh-bourhood.—Aus.-N.Z.
