According to the "Lloyd Fra.ncaise," 458 vessels, of a total tonnage of 511,181, wero building in French shipyards on July 31 last. Of Hhc6c, nine aro mail steamers of 97,000 tons, and 84 cargo steamers, of 262,906 tons. Of tho mail steamers tho largest is '33,000 tons, whilst the second largest is 15,000 tons.
