WRECK ON GOODWIN SANDS
» ONE SURVIVOR RESCUED. London, December 31. Tho rescue of the survivor of a vessel wrecked on the Goodwin Sands apparently solves a Christmas night mystery. The survivor, an enginoor of tho Great Clivp, states that tho vessel stranded ou tho Sands in terriblo weather. Ho enteral a small boat with tho captain, but remembers little, owing to his Bufferings. _ Ho does not know the fato of tho captain or tho remainder of the crew of thirty-two.—Aus.-N.Z. Cablo Assn. LOSS OF TMTON VAN DRIEL THREE MEN RESCUED. St. John's (Newfoundland), December3o. Three men were "rescued, half dead, from the. Dutch steamer Anton Van Driel, which was wrecked at Capo Race.
