In this same tho ladies made a good showins; aaainst the more experienced players. E. A. Johnson and J. W. Lill (Sumnev) defeated Mrs M'Crae (Palmerston North) and Mrs. Hognn (Hastings), 2C-19; H. A. Penn and A. Ross (United) beat H. 1). Andrews and 'J'. Tomlinson (United), 2fl-i6. Semi-final: Whittaker and Stratton defeated Williams and Chambers, 20-17. New Zealand Handicap— First Round: J. W.
