"MESSIAH" WITII THE VEKBIIUQ. GHBN ORCHESTRA,
Ono of tho features in connection with the. approaching visit of the Vorbruggneii Orchestra will bo a performance in each of the four centres of "The Messiah in conjunction with the local choral societies. In the case of Wellington, tho Choral Union has been communicated with, and has promised to provido the ohoir. With a viow to augmenting its numbers for this special occasion,, the secretary (Mr. E. A. Tanner) has written to all the choirmasters in Wellington asking their assistance in inducing memhere of choirs to participate in the performance, which promises to bo historical. With tho Vcrhrugghen Orchestra to interpret Handel's beautiful scovo that can scarcely fail to be. Tho principals, who will travel with the orchestra, will bo Madame Goosens, of Sydney (soprano), Miss Minn. Caldow, of Auckland (contralto), Mr. John Prousc, of Wellington (baritone), and Mr. Austin Blackic, of Wellington itenor).
