Tho vessel is to so to Lyttelton this evening, returning Wednesday morning, and Bail at noon on the return trip. THE RUAHINE. Tho New Zealand Shipping Co.'s steamer Ruahine arrived at Auckland from Eugland on Wednesday night, Bhe berthed the following morning to laud her draft of returning soldiers and a number of civilian passengers, who arc mostly connected in some way with members ol' the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, the majority being relations of soldiers. She sailed from Torliay on November 3, and touehed at Teneriffe on November 8 for four hours to tako in stores. She arrived at Cape Town on November 21, and after taliins on board tons of coal, sailed again 011 November 28. The ship readied Hobart 011 December 18, and stayed until the following day, taking in bunker coal. Moderate weather was # experienced throughout the voyage, which waß uneventful. She brings about 6000 tonfl _of general cargo for New Zealand, of which 2CCO tons arc for Auckland and the remaindcr for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin.' Tlio Corinnn. is -fcKpected to leave Timaru oil Friday for —Wellington and New Plymouth, via Nelson. The Koromiko left Kaipara. on Wednesday afternoon with a cargo of limber for Svdncy. She will afterwards go to Newcastle to load coal for Lyttelton. The American threc-maßtcd schooner Planter finished putting out Jier timber rnd benzine at Bluff on Tuesday. She has a part cargo of 11,850 cases of benzinc for Timaru, and is expected to sail from Bluff on Saturday. • With a cargo cf coal the Katoa arrived at Wellington yesterday afternoon from Newcastle. The coal hull; Sclwyn Craig, which sank off Chelsea wharf (Auckland) on October 5 in nine and a half fathoms of water, has not yet been removed. Referring to the matter in a- report to the Auckland Harbour Board on Tuesday, the harbourmaster stated that the, masts and derricks had been taken out oE tho hulk, and a- green buoy had been moored over the vessel, but no further attempt had been made to raise he)'. The hulk was not a danser to navigation, as there was 42 feet of water over the hull at lowwater sprinc tides, but the harbourmaster considered an attempt should be made to remove the vessel. It was decided to renuest the Union Steam Ship Company to take slops to have the hulk lifted. The Kit-mo, bound from Greymouth to Napier, passed the Heads at 8.25 o'clock last night. A Press Association message from Ohristchurch states that the Maori's passage on Saturday occupied 181 hours. Most of the time was lost in crossing Cook Strait, where heavy southerly weather was encountered. Inferior coal also had a good deal to do with the protracted trip. I
