FATE TO BR TESTED AT MEETING OF THE DIET. Washington, December. 23. Authoritative information from Tokio states that: the fate of the Ilara Ministry will bo tested at a meeting of Ilia Diet shortly. JaiSan, although enjoying tho greatest prosperity, has been suffering from strikes, of which -100 occurred during tho past year. The peoplo are likewise dissatisfied at the Premier's inability to obtain recognition of racial equality at the Peace Conference, and his Siberian policy, which is considered a drain on national resources—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. DEMAND FOE UNIVERSAL SUFFRAGE. (Hec. December 2S, 11.5 p.m.) Tokio, December 25. A committee of young men waited on Mr. Ilara (Premier) 1 requesting his views oil univetsal suffrage. Tlicy pointed out that mas,? meetings were lieinif held throughout the country demanding the Government to grant; universal suffrage. The Government faces other difficult problems, including the food question.
