AWARD OF NAVAL HONOURS
PROTEST BY ADMIRAL SIMS. Washington, December 23. Admiral Sims wrote a letter to Jlr. ,T. Daniels (Secretary of the Navy) refusing to accrpt a Distinguished Service Medal 011 the ground t'hnt: other, naval officers had been inadequately rewarded. Tho letter points out that the Navv Department awarded honours in many instances contrary to Admiral Sims's recommendations. Both (110 Senate's and the House of Representatives' naval committees suggested an inquiry into medal awards given to tihosa in tho naval service.— Aus.-N.Z. Cn.blo Assn.
