The fortnightly meeting of the Society for tho Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was held on Tuesday, Sir. F. Meadowcroft presiding. Tlio secretary reported that following the good example of the pupils of tho Hikitalci School u littlo girl, Kathleen Heney, aged nine, rf I'otone, had collectcd the sum of .£1 Os. Id. for tho funds of the society. The secretary was directed to forward a hitter of thanks to Miss .Honey, and also one to tho headmaster of the school, congratulating him on the lino spirit and humano feeling shown by one of his littlo pupils.
