Hairaclough agviinst tho disqualification of tile horse by the Auckland Trotting Club on tho ground that ho lind been trained by an unlicci.'Mxi trainer, were allowed. Registration acts were granted the Ilawke's Bay and Cambridge Trotting Clubs. Sir. R. A. Armstrong, ohairman of the Wellington Trottiiig Club, waited on the board to ask for advice in regaid to tho club's position in view of tho possibilityjif a meeting- bjtween Cathedral Chimes and Author Dillon. It had tieen suggested that they should meet in a match, but fho position had since altered, and tho proposal now was that they should both make an attempt on tilie record for tho club's pirt'se. and that, instead of having a galloping pacemaker, one horse should paco tho ofchor. It was decided to point out to the club that, there couUl be nothing in tho nature of a match which was inoludecl in the definition of a race, and that both the rulos of trotting and tho Gaming Act limited the number of races in any one day's programmo to eight.
