.'MONTHLY MEETING. The Huti County Council met yesterda v. '■'■There were present'the chairman (Mr; F. G- Cooper), and Councillors W. J. Howell, M. W. Welch; J. Whitemau, ' W. Galloway, and P. Cavanagh. Tho application of Mr. A. W. Fciiit, of Day's Hay, for permission to erect a motor shod on the roadway was refused, and it was decided to prosecute other ratepayers who had built slir-ds encroaching 011 (lie roadway. The Inspector, of Works (Mr. J. W. Cudbv), in his report recommended that the bridge near Wilton's, in Muiigakotukutuku Valley, bo renewed in concrete, A fair quantity of rock had been propared for crushing at Horokiwi Volley* The motor-lorry was still in use in tho Epnni ridine.- "Good progress was being 0 made with the erection of the large concrete culvert at Day's Bay. Tho report was adopted.
It was decided to take the'necessary steps" to increase the sanitary area, at Trentham, to lake in the whole of Heroiaunga. On the motion of Councillor Howell it was decided to obtain authority to raise the sum of .C.TOO for tho purpose of erecting workers' dwellings-for county employees ill the Reikiorangi, Puraparalinui. PacknlMriki, Wainui-o-ranta andAl iiiignroa ridings. Under tho amending: legislation of last session, the council has power to mine the money by special order,' without going to the ratepayers.
