EDUCATION BOARD
■ REGULAR MEETING. The Education Board- met yesterday morning. Mr.; T.- Forsyth presided over •an attendance, consisting of. the following members: Messrs. C. J, Harkncss, G. T. London,.!'. Moss, J. J. Clark, R. A. Wright, and-A. W. Tlogg. . The following items appeared in tho statement of accounts as on December .6: Receipts since last meeting, <£10,712 4s. 3d.; total amount of payments authorised, ,£31,572 15s. lOd.j expenditure to d.itti for the current year, JES247 3s-. Sd.j estimated cost of works authorised to November 10, 1919, and not yet completed, <£1(132 l!)s. sd.
It was decided that tlio board's offices be closed from December 24 to January 9.
The chairman said that vis tho-meet-ing was the Inst of the year ho desired to take tlio opportunity of thanking tho members of tho board for their attendance, and the. staff for their faithful services- ....
Mr. Moss, replying on behalf of tlio heard members, made complimentary re. fereaicM to the amount of work that Jlrj Forsyth did in his position of chairman. II r. Stewart (secretary) returned thanks 011. behalf of the staff. The. board decided, 011 the recommenelation of the executive, that the capita"ti'oll.'.([rants .to school committees this year bo, increased by 33 1-3 per cent, over the scale formerly in operation.
