MONEY MARKET. The Bank of England discount rate, which had stood at 5 per cent, since April 5, 1917, on which date it was reduced from 5i per cent., was raised to 6 per cent, on November 6.

OPEN MARKET HATES. months bills is sji ror cent., as compared with 5J per tint, last year, and 3 per cent, last year. Short loans arc quoted at 43 per cent., as against 4B per <ent. last week, and 3i per cent, last year. FOREIGN EXCHANGES.

At tho wool sales a small selection of merino firsts was offered realising full lato rates; n, splendid selection of crossbrcds medium and fine, saw no change in rites; .low, rather irregular Blipes and scoureds were firm.

At Bradford, merinos and fino crosßbredß are very firm; medium aro low and slightl yin the buyer's favour.
