A -meeting of the Roseneath and Oriental Bay Municipal Association was held on Monday in the Roseneath School, Mr. H. N. Morrison bein" :n the chair. It was resolved that the matter of a deputation to the City Council should ba held over.
A petition was sent to the Outlying District Committee, drawine their attention to the fact that there was no pract'tablc heavy traffic road. Th : s moant that an exorbitant rate had to bo raid to get household goods delivered. Tho suggested remedy was that tho tramway service should ran a motor service, and also a passenger motor service from Courtenay Place to Boyd's store in Hawker Street. The Hay Street zig-zag, it was asserted, was in a dangerous condition, and it was suggested that a dress'aig of metal bo put on it, and a hand-rail be placed on it to prevent horses or cattle straying .there. The gorsa should be cleared away and turnstiles placed at the top and bottom of the track. It was recommended that a temporary, footpath should be formed on Palliser Road until a main nvterinl road is formed. Sums of money have been placed on tho yearly estimate for the widening of Grafton Road and high-level footpaths on the western side. It was suggestod that the work of making footpaths ftom the upper roads to the bench, particularly on the Evans Bay side, should b'o pushed forward. It was refolved to advertise the monthly meetings in the papers, and to send members' cards.
It was decided that the City Council be written to and informed that no dustmen have visited Victoria Hoad, Thane Eoad, or Eoseneath Terrace.
