AT REEFTON

Raefton, December 5. Mr. V. B. Lomax, 'Independent, addressed a large gathering at Be?fton last night. He declared himself against Mr. Massey, and said he would support Sir Joseph Ward on n no-confidence motion. He specially stressed the neglect shown to the bnckblook settlers. Mr. I/imnx was accorded a vote of thnnks and confidence. A small section of the audience proposed a vote of confidence in the Labour candidate, but tho motion was not seconded.
