OFFER BY EMPLOYERS REJECTED. By Telegraph—Prcsß Association. Dunedin, December 4. The carpenters' dispute camo before tho Conciliation Council, but the proceedings werq rcsultless. The men's demands included a minimum of <£4 15s. for a, fivoday week of forty hours, find no Saturday -work. The employers would not agree to a variation of the terms of the existing award, but offered an increase of Id. per hour in bonus, making the pay Is. B}d. per hour, plus 3!d. bonus. The'union declined to accept this.
