Thp New Zealand Institute of Architects' to-day resolved to express dissatisfaction with tho proposed new method of appointing technical school boards, and to interview the Director of Technical Education with a view to arranging for better representation on the boards of various trades and. professions taught in 6chools. Regarding housing schemes, it -was decided to endeavour to have the architectural and lay-out work done under tho direction of registered architects, in conjunction with Hie engineering staff of tho local body concerned. It was resolved that the promotion of competitions for architectural work be discouraged, except work of great public or national importance.
