. ADDRESS BY MR. MALCOLM. By Telegraph—Pros ABiociaUon. Dunecin, December 3. Mr. A. S. Malcolm is again standing in the interests of the Reform Party for the Clutha electorate. Ho addressed a largely attended meeting of electors at Balclutha. on Tuesday night, and was accorded a. hearty vote of thanks and confidence. Dealing with tho cost of living he strongly advocated a policy of Government competition, iwliero it was found that excessive charges were being, imposed, and. emphasised the need for oconomv and increased production. Ho bolieved that to begin 'with the present annual chargo of hclf a million for the upkeep of the Territorial system could be awed by the abolition of that system. The speaker also strongly urged the application of science to industry, and tlie need for encouraging increased immigration, • acid concluded by pointing out the need' for a sane, sound Government, as against the destructive policy of the extreme Labour section.
