UNVEILED AT KAEOEI.
Over tho grave of Mt. D. D. Weir, at Karori, there now ebands a handsome Scotch granite cross erected by the Rngby i'ootliallcrs of Wellington. It bears the appropriate inscription: "What ho did ho did with all .his mighti." Dr. A. K. Nownian, if .P., yesterday afternoon unveiled tho monument in tho preseuco of many friends of tho deceased. Dr. Newman spoke simply and touchiiifly of tho qualities of tbo late Mr. Weir; of his tireless energy and devotion, his clean living, and his lovo "of sport. Tho speaker's sentiments doubtless found an echo in the hearts of all present, for tlw death of Mr, Weir in the epidemic of a year ago removed ono of the best-loved figure.-; of tho New Zealand football world.

The liincoliifOiire Agricultural Society's annual prize to tli". lahourcr who has brought up and placed out the greatest number of children goes this year to Tom Smith, of Wold Noivlon, whose record is 15 children born, 15 brought up, and 11 placed out.
