ISLAND BAY COTTAGE GARDENS
At the monthly meeting of members of the Island Bay Cottage Garden Society, held on Thursday evening, an in. strnctive address was given on chrysanthemum culture by Mr. H. W. Lawton, of Vogeltown. Interest was added by means of diagrams on a blackboard, and the means of ascertaining and selection of the final bud was clearly explained. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the speaker for his address. A seasonable display of flowers was made by members. Mr. Lockwood's extensive collection of ro=es great interest, while the other exhibits wero much admired. The summer show of the society will bo held on January 17.
