C.T.A. MERCANTILE MARINE FUND

A meeting of the Investigation Committee, appoinleil in connection with the above fund was held in the Commercial Travellers ami Warehousemen's Club nremises. There were present: Messrs. O. W. RuMibrook (in the chair), M. A. Oarr. S., Jacobs. R. M. Brewer. C. A. Scott and Captain F. A. Macimloe (secretary of the New Zealand section of the Merchant Service Guild of Australasia^. This fund, ".vhich amounts to .£IOOO, was recently handed over to the War Funds Council by the Wellington Commercial Travellers and Warehousemen's Association, and the Minister had agreed that it be administered in Nov,' Zealand bv a committee appointed by the assoeiatinn. The amount was lo be expended wit'.iin twlve months, and Captain Macind io was included in the committee in an advisory capacity. The- balance, amounting lo ,£5719 17s. 3d., was to be distiibuted by the High Commissioner, in ccniunctiou with Mr. James Witt, I.nnlin manager of Messrs. Sargooo', Son, and Ewen. Canto-In Mncindoe presented a list of easvs for the committee's consideration. Tfc was resolved that, .subject: to the Minister's consent, certain amounts be voted to such ca-w as had been investigated, and inciuiries should be made with reference to the others, with a view to granting assistance.
