The Court of Arbitration opened its Wellington sessions yesterday. His Honour Mr. .Justice Stringer presided, aiid the assessors were. Mr. W. Scott and Mr. J. M'Ciillough. Tho Court set down cases for hearing as under:— _ Monday, November 24.—Wellington Sloremen (amendment of awn.ro), 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 25.— N.Z. Rcolmukers (amendment and award), 10 a.m.) Wellington bakers' disptue, 2 p.m. Wednesday. November 20.—Wellington Trannvnvs Employees .(interpretation of award), 10 n.ni. Thursday, November 27.—William ,T. C. Love v. Wellington Harbour Hoard (compensation claim), 10 a.m.; Alfred Morris v. Wellington City Corporation (compensation claim), 2 p.m. Friday. November 28.—Wellington Jewellers (amendment of awaro), 10 a.m.; N.Z. Typographers (amendment of award), 11 a.m. Mondav, December I.—Wellington butchcrs"dispute, 10.30 a.m. The parties to the ease brought by tho Wellington Saddlers' Union (application for amendment of award) reported that they had agreed upon a settlement providing for nn increasa of 21d. per hour. When the matter cf the Wellington Brawers. Bottlers, and Boltle-wnshor*' award was called, Mr. J. Read said that an amendment of (he award giving permanent hands nn increase of 7s. fid. per week over the present rates had been agreed on. The question of an increase to casual workers and boys was left to the Court.
