The entry included a number of pens of extra prime bullocks. Competition was fairly keen, but values declined 20s. to 30s. per head. Extra prime bullocks, to JC3B 10s.; prime, .£23 lo ,£23; medium, J!2l to JSI27 10s.; lighter, JCI6 to JSI9 10s.; extra prime heifers, to .£23 os.; prime, JilS to Jl9 lOsi; medium, Jill to ,£l6 10s.; light and aged, ,£lfl 10s. lo .£l3 10s. Eat sheep: 1850 penned. The quality was better than has been the cuso for some time, a large number of pens comprising really prime animals. Owing to butchers getting frozen meat, the entry exceeded requirements, and a very considerable drop in prices was experienced. Prime declined Is., wul lighter sorts 2s. per head, and in many eases this drop. was. exceeded. Extra prime wethers, 03s. 9d.; prime, 555. to 585.; medium, - 455. to 505.; lighter, 325. to. 33=.; extra prime ewes, 595. Cd.; prime, 17s. (id. to 535.; medium, 38s.' to 435.; light, 31s. to 3"s. Gd. There was a fair sprinkling of shorn sheep of very good quality, best wethers realising to 155.; others, 345. to 38s. Lambs: _ 71 penned. The quality showed a decided improvement. Competition was keen, and late rates were fully maintained. Extra prime, 3(is. fid.; prime, 31s. to 335.; medium, 275. to 295. Gd.; light, 21s. upwards. The entry of pigs was tho largest for some months, Competition was keen, and prices were slightly abovo lato rates. Tho entry of stores wns unequal to t.he demand, and prices-paid were the highest of the season.
