Tho interest in tho Competitions is being well maintained up to the end, which, as far as the sectional conlests ure cuncerned, Uikes , place to-day. During yesterday there was an interesting class for lmli»s in ttho singing of English sonys, and some very flue singing resulted. There wns also a good class, Iwo elocutionary tests for lndiee and gentlemen, some pretty dancing, and, in the evening, an impromptu speech test, which was txmii'what disappointing. RESULTS. TO-DAY'ri PROGRAMME To-dny will sre the last of the sectionnl competitions at Ihe Town Hall, but judging from tho programme it will bo a. fairly full one on Ihe musical side. Iji the morning there is the operatic solo
for gentlemen, unci in the afternoon classes embracing vocul ducts, quartets (mixed nml male), action songs for junior girls, and tenor solo. The only elooutionary class remaining on the programme is the action recitation for boy or girl under nine, years, which will be tiilten by Mr. John Hopkins at :i o'clock this afternoon. This evening tlio choir contest in suro to draw a lnrßO audicneo- Tiio entries consist of the AVollington Scottish Choir (under Mr. A. M. Nelson), Wesley Choir (under Mr. 11. Temple White), the Methodist Church Choir, Txnvcr Hiitt (under Mr. R. Y. Shenrer), St. Mary's of the Angels Clioir (under Sir: E. J. Jlenl.v). and St. Johns Presbyterian Choir (under Sir. W. K Kerry). The lest piece is the chorus "lie "Not Afraid," from "Elijah," and the "own selections" are as follow: Scottish Clioir, "The Aulrt Hooso"; AVeslcy Choir, "Weary Wind of the West"; Methodist Choir."
